Print, Copy and Scan Features

The Epson L3060 printer is a multifunction printer. Some of this printer’s features are very similar to its competitors. Especially the core features such as printing, copying and scanning. Let’s look into each feature:

Print Features

This printer uses Epson’s famous Micro Piezo printhead technology for printing. This printer has a page yield of around 8,000 pages for black and white printing, and 6,500 pages for colour printing. The page yield will vary according to your print settings. If you use high-quality settings, then the page yield might fall to half. This printer has a print speed of 10 impressions per minute for monochrome printing and 5 impressions per minute for colour printing. This is a standard print speed that we can see in almost all printers in this price range.

The cost per print for this printer is around USD 0.004, this will vary according to the print settings and amount of details in your print document. This printer can support page thickness of up to 180 GSM. The recommended duty cycle is 400-600 prints per month.

Scan Features

This printer has a flatbed scanner, which is more than enough for home use and small office use. There are no ADF options, so if you have several pages to scan, you should do it manually.

Copy Features

The copy function is similar to almost all the multifunction printers out there. You can select colour output from the user interface itself, so it’s not necessary to connect with a PC/Laptop to copy pages.

Ink Tank Features

The Epson L3060 printer uses dye-based ink reservoir printing mechanism. The ink refill cost is low compared to the conventional ink cartridge printers. Also, you can get an improved page yield using ink tank printers. Another great thing about ink tank printers is that the refilling process is easy and spill-proof.

Although we can purchase ink refills from third-party sellers for cheap rates, it is advised to buy ink from the manufacturer to reduce the chances of ink clotting in nozzles.

Wireless Connectivity Features

The Epson L3060 printer comes with an in-built single band WiFi connectivity router, which enables wireless printing and internet printing for its users. The internet connectivity option allows us to connect this printer with third-party print service apps such as Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint.

If you have connected this printer with the internet, practically you can give print commands from anywhere from the world; cool right? The WiFi feature is especially useful in office environments where a group has to share a printer for their work.

UI Features

Epson L3060’s UI is somewhat similar to Epson’s higher-end printers. The UI is tiltable so the user can comfortably operate the printer from any angle. However, the lack of display panel is a small letdown from Epson’s side. Without the display, we solely have to rely on the LED indicators to find printer malfunctions/errors, and we can’t track print progress real-time. Apart from that, the UI is very user friendly and easy to operate.

Warranty and OS Support

This printer is compatible with both of the major OSs, namely MS Windows and Mac OS. Until now, there are no major compatibility issues reported, so we can safely assume that this printer is fully compatible with both of these OSs. This printer has a warranty coverage of upto one year.

Pros and Cons of Epson L3060 Printer

Pros
  • High page yield
  • WiFI enabled
  • Supports both Mac and Windows
Cons
  • No display
  • Paper support only up to 180 GSM

Conclusion

To conclude, Epson L3060 is an excellent printer choice for households and small offices where the printing requirement is less than 600 per month. Apart from the lack of display in this printer, this device serves its purpose quite well.

I love computer devices of all kinds! I am particularly interested in productivity devices such as printers. I remember my first printer back in 2008, which was an awesome experience for me. I learned a lot of things after that experience. I intend to share my experience through this blog. That way I can make others understand the nuances and help them to make the right purchase decision.
